Joachim Romain
Born in 1973 in Le Havre, Joachim Romain is a French artist who lives and works in his hometown. The son of a photographer and an art enthusiast, he developed an early and keen eye for the traces left by advertising in the urban landscape. Inspired by the New Realismand figures like Villeglé or Hains. He uses torn posters, materials collected from the street, and photographs to explore the visual decay of the modern world. His work questions the overabundance of images and the speed of consumption, between collage, photography and sculpture. Through his works, Joachim Romain transforms urban vestiges into poetic archives of our image-saturated era.
